EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — A routine shift change for the Evansville Police Department on Tuesday night led to the arrest of a suspect for slashing tires on patrol vehicles.
Officer Matt Taylor noticed something was wrong when he began his shift and found his patrol car had flat tires.
"Last night during shift change from second to third shift... so roughly 10 or 11 p.m... officers were going out to get their assigned vehicles for their shift. One officer noticed two of the passenger tires of his vehicle had been slashed," said Sgt. Anthony Aussieker of the Evansville Police Department.
After communicating with other officers, it was discovered that six vehicles had a total of 10 tires slashed. That's when officers spotted the suspect, 35-year-old Caleb Loving.
