Inox Solar, a subsidiary of Inox Green Energy, has signed an agreement with China's LONGi to supply 5 GW of solar modules over the next three years.
Sources told CNBC-TV18 the collaboration will ensure near-simultaneous adoption of next-generation innovations from China.
The company announced last week that the contract worth about ₹7000 crore will help the Chinese solar products manufacturer meet its demand in the Indian market, the Economic Times reported.
The agreement also gives Inox Solar access to LONGi's latest tech in module and cell technologies.
The cross-country collaboration also reflects the rising interest in solar and other clean energy in both India and China, especially as the two Asian giants have quickly emerged as leaders in renewable energy.
