LOS ANGELES – It didn’t take long for the Blue Jays to make history in Game 5 of the World Series here on Wednesday night.

In fact, the surging Blue Jays needed all of three pitches.

It started with Davis Schneider batting leadoff and taking the first pitch of the game from Dodgers starter Blake Snell and hitting it over the wall in left field.

Just two pitchers later, Vlad Guerrero Jr. followed to the same part of the field to open a 2-0 lead for the Jays.

It was the first time in World Series history that two players have gone back-to-back with home runs to begin a game.

That assault of Snell certainly quietened the sellout crowed at Dodger Stadium, a night after the Jays scored a 6-2 win to even the best-of-seven series at 2-2 .
