A national-level shooting athlete was allegedly molested by a lab technician at Modinagar in Ghaziabad on Tuesday morning while she was on her way to the gym, police said.

Police identified the accused as Ankur, who works as a lab technician at a private hospital. He was arrested on Wednesday.

The incident came to light after the athlete’s father filed a complaint with the Modinagar police station, based on which a case of molestation and indecency was lodged. “The accused has been identified and taken into police custody. Further legal action is being taken,” Assistant Police Commissioner (Modinagar) Amit Saxena said.
