Crews battle fire that spread to Gregory cotton fields on Oct. 29

GREGORY — Firefighters are battling a 15-acre fire that ignited at the Gregory Gin Co. on the afternoon of Oct. 29.

A cold front brought strong winds to the area overnight, causing the fire to spread and burn cotton fields.

About 50% of the fire was contained as of 7:19 p.m., according to a Texas A&M Forest Service wildfire map.
