AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Georgia Public Service Commissioner Fitz Johnson visited the CSRA on Wednesday evening as he campaigns for reelection.

The Republican incumbent for District 3 is facing Democratic challenger Peter Hubbard in one of two Public Service Commission races on the ballot.

Johnson addressed concerns about data centers, including whether a possible data center could cause power bills to increase.

“The data centers, they’re going to pay their fair shares and ratepayers are going to be protected, small businesses and individual ratepayers,” said Johnson.

District 2 Republican incumbent Tim Echols is also on the ballot, facing Democratic challenger Dr. Alicia Johnson.

Early voting ends Friday, October 31. Election Day is Nov. 4 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
