WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. — A report of a possible weapon at Wesley Chapel High School earlier today prompted a precautionary controlled campus status and a delay in student dismissal, but the situation has since been resolved.

Pasco Sheriff’s Office (PSO) deputies have confirmed the threat is unfounded after locating a toy gun on the premises.

The school was placed on controlled campus status, and its dismissal was temporarily held as a safety measure while PSO deputies thoroughly canvassed the campus. After an extensive search, deputies successfully located a toy gun that had been discarded in a bathroom.
