After an extended managerial search, the Minnesota Twins have reportedly made a decision on their next manager.

According to MLB insider Jon Heyman , Minnesota is in agreement with former Pittsburgh Pirates manager Derek Shelton to be their next manager. Shelton will become the 32nd manager in franchise history when the agreement becomes official.

Shelton took over as the Pirates manager in 2020 and lasted until May when he was fired after a 12-26 start. Overall, he compiled a 306-440 record during his time with the Pirates, a winning percentage of just 41%.

In his tenure with Pittsburgh, Shelton never managed to reach the 80-win mark and recorded over 100 losses twice in that tenure. He will now get a fresh start in Minnesota with a roster that is likely much more talented than w
