FARGO — Police say a person walking downtown was hit by a car Wednesday morning, Oct. 29, by someone who didn’t scrape the frost off their windshield.

The crash happened just before 8 a.m. at the intersection of Seventh Avenue and Seventh Street North, near the Sanford Broadway Clinic. The victim was taken to the hospital.

The driver of the vehicle was cited for an obstructed windshield because of the frost.

It’s a warning ahead of winter, as law enforcement hopes to prevent such accidents. Driving with an obstructed view is against the law, and clearing off a windshield is not optional.

In Fargo, the temperatures weren’t expected to dip below freezing Wednesday night, Oct. 29, but frost can still form on windshields with the right conditions.
