BIRMINGHAM – Spanish Fort High School High School head coach Gretchen Boykin had a plan to her madness this season. And it worked just like she had hoped with the Toros (60-8) beating Hazel Green 25-15, 25-12, 25-21 in the Class 6A championship match Wednesday at Bill Harris Arena as the first day of championship play drew to a close with four champions (1A, 3A, 5A, 6A) crowned.
The 55th Elite 8 State Volleyball Championships conclude Thursday with championship matches at Bill Harris Arena in Classes 2A, 4A and 7A. Action gets underway at 10 a.m. with the 7A state championship, followed by the 2A finals at noon and the 4A championship at 2 p.m.
