ATHENS, Ga. — Athens-Clarke County Police need help identifying a victim who officers said was hit by a driver who is now facing charges in the crash.
Officers said they responded to the crash around 11:40 p.m. on Oct. 26 were a car hit a pedestrian near the intersection of Highway 29 North and Highway 72.
The investigation determined the 33-year-old driver of a Nissan Versa was going north on Highway 29 when he hit a pedestrian crossing on Highway 29. He died from his injuries.
Athens-Clarke County Police said the driver of the Nissan was arrested and charged with homicide by vehicle and DUI.
