OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - Evan Hampton had plenty of hype coming into this season, rated a 4 star recruit and a top three player in Kentucky. But Owensboro coaches have known they’d get a machine for some time now.
“I watched him in middle school, he balled out in middle school and we knew we had something special coming up,” said Owensboro Defensive Coordinator Drew Hall.
Even with all the hype, Evan has made it clear where his priorities are.
“I want to make sure we get a win on Friday before anything else, and make a run at the state championship,” said Senior Runningback Evan Hampton.
But brewing on the side, there’s a friendly battle going, between Evan Hampton, and one of his coaches, Drew Hall, a former runningback himself.
