DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - Many businesses are stepping up to help feed their neighbors, especially households with children that rely on food assistance, amid the government shutdown.
Duluth’s Best Bread will be offering children 12 and under free day-old bread and pastries.
The deal starts on Tuesday, November 4. Customers must mention the “Duluth Best Bread Kids Special” to get one piece of bread or one pastry per child, per day. The deal excludes their cookies, according to the owners.
They say no purchase is necessary, but children must be present and must dine in.
Also helping to feed people is Anderson’s Greenhouse in Two Harbors. They will have bagged meals on hand for children 13 and younger.
