HOUGHTON — The Houghton Gremlins volleyball team needed four sets to dispatch the West Iron County Wykons Tuesday night at the Houghton Gym, 25-23, 25-8, 23-25, and 26-24.

For the Gremlins, Ellie Hainault led the way with nine kills and four blocks. Alyssa Northey had 15 assists and three aces.

Defensively, Emmy Pietila had 24 digs.

Panthers fall to Cardinals in four

CHASSELL — The Chassell Panthers volleyball team fell to the Wakefield-Marenisco Cardinals Tuesday in four sets. The Cardinals won, 25-18, 25-18, 23-25, and 25-9.

Elli Kuntze led the Panthers’ offense with 10 kills, nine digs, and two aces. Oriana Olson had seven kills, seven digs, one block and three aces.

Ella Hermanos added two kills, one block and one assist.
