Visakhapatnam: The Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone ( AMTZ ) and its research arm, the Kalam Institute of Health Technology (KIHT), commemorated the birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam — India’s “People’s President” and a champion of scientific self-reliance — by launching two new initiatives to strengthen the country’s medical technology ecosystem .
In another key development, AMTZ announced the establishment of a Thermoforming Technology Centre, which will manufacture large enclosures and custom components for medical devices — a step expected to enhance the country’s precision manufacturing capacity and reduce import dependency.
