French authorities have detained five new people, comprising a key suspect, in connection with this month’s audacious jewellery heist at the Louvre museum, the Paris prosecutor said on Thursday.

“We had him in our sights,” Laure Beccuau said of the main suspect, noting that none of the stolen items, valued at around $102 million, have been recovered, according to AFP .
