Ijust want to let the readers here know what happened on Oct. 18 at the state Capitol, since there was so little coverage of it. What happened was thousands of people peacefully gathered together in an effort to make known that we, the people, are not happy about what is going on in the U.S. government.
There were almost as many issues being addressed as there were people there. Everything from not wanting a king in the White House, to illegal immigration enforcement tactics, to cuts in education, Medicare, Medicaid, SNAP benefits and Social Security. It was an example of people peacefully exercising their right to petition the government for a redress of grievances without fear of punishment.
