It was the Monday before Halloween and I found myself invited to a costume party on Friday.
Always looking for an opportunity to mark off one of the New Orleans experiences from my ever-expanding list, I chose to take my first trip on the streetcar to get to the store.
Starting off near my Lower Garden District home, I etched out a quick plan to head to the French Quarter through the St. Charles Streetcar, beginning at Euterpe Street.
It would be a simple route to understand for a newly-minted streetcar rider.
I left my apartment around 5:10 p.m. and got to the streetcar stop in about 10 minutes.
I stood outside by the stop, appreciating the cooler weather I’ve been missing after my first spring in New Orleans gave way to summer. A bench to sit on would have been nice, though.
