OLD LYME, Conn. (WTNH) -- An organization in Old Lyme is expanding its therapeutic riding sessions to help people of all ages foster their growth and confidence.

At High Hopes Therapeutic Riding Center in Old Lyme, they have a program that has been around for more than 50 years, using about 20 horses.

"And as we've listened to the needs of the community, as we've grown our herd, we've heard that there's a need for new opportunities," Executive Director Missy Lamont said.

The wellness program is the newest offering. It's multifaceted, providing support for veterans, youth, seniors and people living with Parkinson's disease.

"They become a part of a group and see that they are not alone, and the horse lets them interact and feel less stressed, I think," Dianne Walsh said.
