BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Cold nights and mornings will continue through much of the extended forecast with little in the way of rain chances.

THURSDAY’S FORECAST

Today will be mainly sunny and dry with highs in the mid 60s this afternoon.

TONIGHT’S COOL DOWN

Tonight will be mainly clear and dry, also noticeably cooler with overnight lows in the mid 40s by daybreak Friday. Expect more nights and mornings in the 40s this week into next week.

HURRICANE MELISSA

A Thursday update on Hurricane Melissa shows that it continues to degrade with winds eventually getting down to category one strength. The storm will move near Bermuda and continue farther out to sea. Nothing else is expected in the Atlantic at this time.
