Mumbai: Seventeen children and a senior citizen were held hostage in broad daylight Thursday at a studio in Mumbai’s Powai, triggering panic and a massive police response.

However, quick action by the police and fire brigade personnel ensured all children were rescued safely. The police have also detained an accused identified as Rohit Arya.

Police got a call at around 1.45 pm that some children were being held hostage. They negotiated with the accused, who had some demands. But the talks did not work out, which is when a Quick Response Team (QRT) broke into the studio and rescued the children. Show Full Article
