My son Bobby and I took our annual trip to Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, this fall. We’ve been doing this for a number of years – we take a lunch, go sit by the lake, and just admire the beauty and have a nice time. This year, we were so early, we went all the way to North Conway.
My daughter Mary Anne and her husband, Jim Fitzgerald, recently took me for a two-day trip to a hotel up there. It was marvelous. It reminds me that I used to take busloads of students hiking. I thought maybe if I could get kids interested in hiking, they would continue to do it. It’s such a nice activity for young people. I only hope I got something started.
