NEWBURYPORT — Those who missed fishing off the Plummer Spring Bridge received some good news recently when the city announced that a localized algae bloom affecting the area, as well as the upper dam area of the Upper and Lower Artichoke reservoirs, had subsided.
“We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation during the advisory period. Our team worked diligently to monitor and respond to the bloom, and we’re glad to report that the area is once again safe for recreation,” Water Treatment Operations Superintendent Pete King said in a statement from the city.
