Cambridgeshire Live readers have been debating the plans for significant housing expansion around Cambridge, with many questioning who the new homes are intended for and whether local services can handle the increase.

Several major development sites have been proposed in Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire to meet a demand for more than 48,000 new homes by 2045. Cambridge City Council and South Cambridgeshire District Council have released a draft joint local plan, outlining a guide for future development across the region.

Work on the joint local plan began around five years ago. It is designed to steer future development of homes and jobs in the area up to 2045.
