BARRY COUNTY, Michigan — A video of a father and son circulating at a Barry County school prompted a district closure, police say.
The Michigan State Police say the Snapchat video involved a 40-year-old man from Holt and his 17-year-old son from Sunfield brandishing a weapon. The 17-year-old, who is a student in the district, apparently suggested he might take the weapon to school and harm faculty.
Lakewood Public Schools staff saw the video and notified law enforcement. Police began investigating the threat at 11 p.m. on Tuesday.
Lakewood Public Schools Superintendent has closed all schools Wednesday in the district out of an "abundance of caution," MSP said in an X post .
