A Fort Wayne-based apprenticeship training provider is one of 12 statewide chosen to to share in a $1.2 million grant, officials announced today.

The Region 8 Education Service Center, which serves the northeast Indiana region, has been selected to be a liaison for students and schools participating in the Indiana Career Apprenticeship Pathway.

The new pathway will "prepare Hoosiers for in-demand careers and help Indiana businesses find and train employees," a news release said.

Student recruitment is scheduled to begin early next year for apprenticeship positions that will begin in fall 2026.

Grant recipients will use the money to develop detailed plans for implementing the program in their regions.
