Alana Haim is reportedly in talks to star alongside Aubrey Plaza in the upcoming biopic about Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss. The Licorice Pizza actress and Haim singer is reportedly circling the role of an aspiring writer named Jacolyn, reports Deadline. The Heidi Fleiss Story is a dark comedy that will be set in 1993 Los Angeles and depict the days surrounding Fleiss' arrest for running the largest high-end prostitution ring in the world. With the unlikely help of an aspiring writer, who vows to be the one to write The Heidi Fleiss Story, Fleiss scrambles around the city trying to blackmail and leverage various connections to get the case dropped. Plaza's involvement was announced in August, but she revealed to IndieWire later that month that she decided she wanted to play Weiss a couple of years ago. "I've been on this track for a while," The White Lotus star said. "I have not spoken with her, (but) I hope so. I hope to make a little trip to her place in the desert at some point. Spiritually, I feel her. I've heard she's very excited about it." The actress will also produce the project via her Evil Hag company. The film, which will be shot in Los Angeles early next year, will be directed by Leah Rachel in her feature film debut. Rachel also wrote the script with The Idol actress Rachel Sennott and Travis Jackson. While she is best known for performing alongside her sisters Este and Danielle as the band Haim, Alana has been slowly building her acting career since making her debut in 2021's Licorice Pizza. She recently starred in The Mastermind alongside Josh O'Connor and One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio.
