Surveillance video captured the moment a coyote attacked a dog in the backyard of a Florida home on Tuesday, WSVN reports.
The video captures Lola, a 10-year-old French bulldog, in the backyard when a coyote suddenly darts after her.
Lola is then observed tumbling and making sounds just before the coyote lets her go. The family believes the coyote released her in response to the noise they made upon hearing Lola's cries.
Lola was rushed to a hospital, where she was treated for her injuries and given shots.
Officials from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission explained that coyotes are present in all 67 counties across Florida, according to WSVN.
Although coyotes seldom pose a direct threat to humans, they do prey on domestic cats and small dogs.
