CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The jury is now deliberating in the trial for one of six suspects charged in connection with the kidnapping, torture, and murder of Alishah Pointer, 22, in 2021.

Anthony Bryant’s trial began on Oct. 20 in front of Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas Judge Mollie Ann Murphy and the jury got the case on Oct. 29.

Bryant, 22, was indicted on the charges of aggravated murder, kidnapping, conspiracy and felonious assault.

Earlier this month, Brittany Smith pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated murder and one count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping.

The guilty plea came in the middle of Smith’s jury trial in front of Judge Murphy. Smith will be sentenced Nov. 19.
