PLAQUEMINE, La. (WAFB) - One person was arrested after a shooting at a bar in Plaquemine on Wednesday, Oct. 29.

According to the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office, John Green II, 52, was taken into custody for the accidental shooting. He is facing charges for aggravated second-degree battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm on the premises of an alcoholic beverage outlet, resisting an officer, and multiple probation violations.

The shooting happened at Club Secret on West Street.

Officials said Green, a convicted felon, was illegally carrying a firearm when he caused it to discharge inside the bar, hitting a woman he knew.

The woman was taken to a hospital for injuries that are not considered life-threatening, added officials.
