New Jersey State Police said the crash of an ultralight aircraft into tidal meadows shortly after taking off Saturday, Oct. 25 remains under investigation.
State police say the plane was carrying two people when it went down in a creek not far from Hawks Bridge Road in Mannington Township at 10:48 a.m. The craft had just taken off from Rainbow’s End Airport, a small, privately owned facility along that road.
“The pilot sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to an area hospital,” Trooper Christopher Postorino said. “No other injuries were reported.”
