MADISON (WKOW) -- The Trump administration has denied Wisconsin’s application for Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funding for Door, Grant, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington, and Waukesha counties, impacted by severe storms and flooding in August.

This decision follows a previous denial of Public Assistance to address over $26.5 million in damages .

Gov. Tony Evers plans to appeal both denials to ensure support for affected communities. The state has 30 days to file an appeal, and Wisconsin Emergency Management will submit additional justification for the funding request.
