The Kansas Attorney General’s Office cleared Newman Regional Health of any wrongdoing following a complaint by Tyler Curtis, who alleged the hospital charged excessive fees for public records requests.
The matter was discussed Wednesday during a joint meeting of the Newman Regional Health Board of Trustees and the Lyon County Commission.
According to letters included in the meeting agenda, Curtis filed the official complaint with the Attorney General’s Office on May 7. In the letter, Curtis alleged that a fee of $30 each was charged for two of three Kansas Open Records Act (KORA) requests sent to Newman Regional.
