Mystic Seaport Museum announced that it is laying off several employees.

Christopher Freeman, the interim president and CEO of the organization, said this was a difficult decision to address financial challenges.

Twenty two positions, which is about 15 percent of the staff will be affected, a ccording to a statement on the museum’s website.
