LIVINGSTON PARISH, La. (WAFB) - Deputies say a man is in jail after they found him in possession of several items stolen from the home of a recently deceased Livingston Parish resident.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office says 40-year-old Jeremy Mitchell was stopped on a 4-wheeler last week on Highway 441 near George White Road. According to Sheriff Jason Ard, while conducting the traffic stop, deputies discovered several long guns, a jewelry box, a lock box, tools, narcotics.
“Through our investigation to follow, we learned Mitchell had just committed a residential burglary on James Chapel Road, the residence of a recently deceased LP resident,” said Sheriff Ard. He further said that Mitchell had made “a couple passes at this residence.”
