MEMPHIS, Tenn. — FedEx is confirming a "small number" of positions have been eliminated.
The company did not disclose the number affected, their location, or their job roles. Several people have written to WREG saying the layoffs impacted workers in the Memphis area.
FedEx's corporate statement is below:
"After careful consideration, we made the difficult decision to eliminate a small number of positions as we realign functions and enhance operational effectiveness as part of our ongoing transformation. We are working directly with affected individuals to ensure they have support during this transition."
In August, the state filed notice that more than 600 FedEx workers would be let go at two Memphis facilities associated with FedEx Supply Chain.
