Trial is underway in Oakland County Circuit Court for a man accused of sexually assaulting a young family member.

At the time the alleged assaults were reported, the defendant — Brian Dodoro — had a job with Troy’s Department of Public Works and was an auxiliary volunteer firefighter. He was put on leave from both after he was charged in October 2024.

Officials said the alleged assaults happened multiple times several years ago, but it wasn’t until last year that the alleged victim came forward. A detailed and thorough investigation was reportedly launched after the Troy Police Department received information about the alleged assaults.

The investigation didn’t turn up any criminal activity by Dodoro associated with his job or during his designated work schedule, officials said.
