BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) — Buffalo Bishop Michael Fisher returned from Rome late Tuesday night after meeting with Pope Francis and Vatican officials to seek guidance on the diocese's ongoing bankruptcy proceedings and parish restructuring efforts.
The leader of the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo offered members of the media one-on-one interviews on Wednesday.
7 News Anchor and Senior Reporter Michael Wooten met with the bishop at St. Joseph’s Cathedral to learn more about his face-to-face meetings at the Vatican.
"It was more like continue with the process, but to work with them as they want to work with us," explained Bishop Fisher.
The bishop called the trip successful, meeting not just with the leader of the Catholic Church but also with many administrative offices of the Vatican.
