A teen boy has been hospitalized after, police claim, he was shot in an incident that happened around lunchtime in Philly's Olney neighborhood.

According to police, the incident happened at about 11:47 a.m. near the intersection of 5th Street and Olney Avenue, where a teen boy was shot.

The teen, officials said, has been taken to a nearby hospital.

However, the child's condition was not immediately known.

Police did not immediately provide the child's exact age, have not announced any arrests, and have not detailed a motive in this incident.

But, officials said, an investigation is ongoing.
