BLUE EARTH COUNTY, Minn. — A high-speed motorcycle chase unfolded Wednesday night when a sheriff's deputy reported a motorcycle traveling at 90 mph on Highway 60, west of Lake Crystal near County Road 119. The Blue Earth County Sheriff's Office says the rider, identified as David James Ruter, accelerated to speeds reaching 160 mph after a traffic stop was attempted. The deputy says Ruter, 23 of rural Fairfax, eventually lost control in the grassy median while attempting a U-turn. He was taken into custody without further resistance. Ruter remains in the Blue Earth County Jail on charges including driving after suspension.
