The family of a hardwalking binman stabbed to death as he walked the dog after work have spoken of ‘deep void’ left behind.

Wayne Broadhurst, 49, was killed close to his home in Uxbridge, west London at around 5.30pm on Monday.

Afghan migrant Safi Dawood, 22, sat with his head sandwiched between his legs when he appeared in court harged with his murder today.

His family said: ‘Wayne Broadhurst was a devoted and hardworking man who spent his life serving his community as a waste services worker.

‘He worked hard his whole life, never shying away from improving his community.

‘His love for animals showed the gentle heart behind his strong work ethic, and his passion for Liverpool FC was something he loved to share with others.
