The Toronto Blue Jays are one win away from winning the World Series, and the American League champions could bag baseball’s ultimate Halloween treat as early as Friday night.
First pitch for Game 6 in the best-of-seven series in Toronto is 8 p.m. A seventh game, if necessary, will be played Saturday, also at Rogers Centre and also beginning at 8 p.m.
To show support for Canada’s quest for a third World Series title and first since 1993, and give fans more time to cheer on the Blue Jays, the Niagara IceDogs have moved up the start for their Ontario Hockey League game against the Brampton Steelheads by an hour.
Instead of getting underway at 7 p.m., Niagara’s home game at Meridian Centre in St. Catharines will begin at 6 p.m., with doors to the downtown arena opening at 5 p.m.
