Mumbai: Spiritual leader Sadhguru has expressed surprise over the casting of Yash as Ravana in ‘Ramayana’, stating he is too ‘handsome’ to play the role of a villain.

“I don’t know how Yash became Ravana. I know him very well,” said the spiritual leader during a candid conversation with filmmaker Namit Malhotra. ADVERTISEMENT

The filmmaker explained that Ravana was a ‘very important part’ in the film and they wanted to cast someone powerful for it.

“It’s because we were almost looking at a superstar-level person to come and play that role,” the filmmaker said.

However, Sadhguru seemed unconvinced. “A villain always means he has a blunt nose and a large stature. But Yash is a handsome man.”
