Sex and slaughter are on full display in the new, NSFW red band trailer for “Spartacus: The House of Ashur.” The new chapter in Starz ‘s “Spartacus” franchise promises a story filled with gladiator gore, Roman romance and steamy scandals as the once defeated Ashur (Nick E. Tarabay) returns to Rome to lead his own house with vengeful conviction.

The trailer spares few visuals, showcasing the heroes and villains slicing and soliciting their ways through ancient Rome. Waterfalls of blood and guts are juxtaposed with drinks and jewels, as the new season suggests excess in all matters of the flesh, topped with dialogue of thinly veiled innuendos. This isn’t your dad’s “Spartacus.”
