Genealogy workshops offered
NEWELL — A genealogy workshop has been scheduled for the public, free of charge, in the hopes of assisting individuals in researching their family history. Sponsored by the Tri-State Genealogical and Historical Society, the event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 6.
“Join us in an exciting workshop that will help you begin your family history research or help you break down a brick wall you have been struggling with,” stated Martha Gittings, a volunteer with the historical society.
Located in the rear of the former Wells High School at 717 Washington St., Room 103, in Newell, officials announced the building is open every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. throughout the year for residents to come and research
