A Brampton man who came to Canada with just $300 in his pocket is now $5 million richer.
Bridgemohan Neebar has been playing the lottery for decades, with particular affinities for Lotto 6/49 and Lotto Max.
The automotive industry worker grabbed a quick pick for the Aug. 6 Lotto 6/49 draw like he does every week, but didn’t realize he was a big winner until weeks later.
“I had a few tickets sitting in my car that had been there for a few weeks,” he said while collecting his winnings at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.
“One day when I went to the store, I decided to check them.”
Neebar recalled his disbelief when he saw the $5 million on the screen.
“My eyes went wide. Then I checked my ticket again to make sure it wasn’t a glitch in the system,” he recounted.
