India rode on Jemimah Rodrigues’ unbeaten 127 to get past Australia by five wickets in a record chase to enter the final of the Women’s ODI World Cup at the D.Y. Patil Stadium here on Thursday.

Jemimah’s 134-ball knock contained 14 fours. She added 167 for the third wicket with skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (89, 88b, 10x4, 2x6) to put the Indian innings back on track after openers Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana fell inside 10 overs. The Indians chased down the target of 339 with nine balls to spare. It was the highest successful chase in women’s ODIs.

India will meet South Africa in Sunday’s final at the same venue.

Earlier, Ellyse Perry was fluent, Ashleigh Gardner was destructive, but it was Phoebe Litchfield who proved to be Australia’s anchor and aggressor.
