HOLLAND, Michigan — After a years-long wait, West Michiganders will soon be lacing up their skates to try out the new Holland Ice Park! The skating rink is set to open officially on Friday, Nov. 14.

The Ice Park is along the edge of Window on the Waterfront Park and features fire pits, a skating ribbon, an ice pond and even a curling sheet.

The more than $11 million project has been in the works for decades, Holland Assistant City Manager Dan Van Dyken told 13 ON YOUR SIDE in September.

"We like to do things the right way here in Holland. And I think this project is really doing that," said Van Dyken. "We've actually been talking about ice rink in downtown Holland for about 90 years, going all the way back to Lida Rogers and Tulip Time."
