MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — A former tenure-track professor at Georgia College and State University (GCSU) in Milledgeville is suing the university for firing him.
Adam Lamparello, former assistant professor of public law, also was the university's mock trial coach and pre-law advisor at GCSU. He started teaching at the university in 2020.
He filed a lawsuit against the university president, Cathy Cox, and other university officials on Monday.
The lawsuit said that Lamparello is suing the university for violating his First and 14th Amendment rights and for breach of contract.
In February 2025, he says, he was teaching a class where students had to write legal documents. The lawsuit says that "students in one of the groups committed plagiarism."
