The organization, which was established by April Haggart in 2024, promotes inclusivity for those with intellectual disabilities through its bowling league and programs that help children develop basic motor and sport skills. Article content

Haggart said it “feels great” to look back on the organization’s growth over the past year.

“I didn’t know what to imagine one year later,” she said. “We’re building that inclusive community.”

While Special Olympics Huron started with just five athletes last year, it has since grown to include more than 20 athletes throughout all its programs.
